My Pick of the Pack offers opinions on baby and toddler essentials. As a former professional nanny, I've worked with over 50 families in 3 different states on both temporary and longer term assignments. I was very fortunate to get to know and work with so many different families. It was through these experiences that I realized there are many different ways to parent and that each family works out their own method to keep things running as smoothly as possible. This is a feeling I carry with me as a new parent. While reading parenting books and arming yourself with information is important, sometimes the best solutions are the ones that you figure out on your own or the ones that another parent casually mentions. While working as a nanny in all those homes, I was able to get first hand experience with a wide variety of supplies and brands. I always made a mental note of the brands that I thought were superior. As a new mom, I find myself going back to some of those very same brands even though product and safety standards have changed significantly. I hope I can save you some of the research and legwork involved in finding great children's products.
