Baby Bottles: Review of Green to Grow BPA-Free and Glass Baby Bottles
AWARD-WINNING BPA-FREE BABY BOTTLES BY A COMMUNITY FOCUSED FAMILY COMPANY
Reviewed by Maria Plasterer 11/15/2009
My first child was born in July of 2007, right around the time when the general public was just beginning to become aware of the "BPA Baby Bottle Crisis". We were one of those families that sank a whole bunch of money into a popular brand of polycarbonate bottles. We boiled and microwaved until all the parts were absolutely sterile. Then we neatly lined up the assembled bottles on the shelf awaiting the birth of our daughter. About 4 months later we replaced all of those polycarbonate plastic bottles. They contained bisphenol A (BPA), a suspected hormone-disrupting chemical. More on the bisphenol A controversy at www.greentogrow.com. Green to Grow's award-winning BPA-free baby bottles are made from PES plastic. They do not contain phthalates or bisphenol A. Green to Grow bottles are free of lead and PVC and are tested in the U.S. for quality and safety. The regular neck BPA-free plastic bottles are compatible with the Medela breast pump. Green to Grow also offers glass baby bottles. All the bottles are dishwasher safe (top rack). Even though there are now many great BPA-free baby bottle choices on the market, Green to Grow is noteworthy as a company for its community driven focus. Green to Grow founded the Bottles to Babies Initiative which connects families wishing to donate their baby bottles with local, non-profit organizations. Green to Grow is a 1% for the Planet member, donating 1% of annual sales to environmental causes. To learn more about 1% For The Planet: www.onepercentfortheplanet.org.
