Jackets: Review of Patagonia Baby Down Sweater
3 SEASON ULTRALIGHT AND COMPRESSIBLE DOWN JACKET
Reviewed by Maria Plasterer 11/15/2009
The Baby Down Sweater from Patagonia is a versatile 3 season ultralight jacket for babies and toddlers. The greatest thing about this piece is that it's warm and durable but not bulky. Your child can really move in this thin breathable jacket. It's extremely compressible which means that it takes up very little space in a diaper bag or backpack. The shell is made from 100% all-recycled polyester and is treated with a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish for shedding wet weather. The jacket is insulated with high-loft, 600-fill-power premium European goose down. The full-length front zipper features a zipper garage to prevent chin chafe. I love that there is no hood to get in the way of strapping baby into the carseat or stroller. Instead, use an adorable hat to go with this jacket. This wind and water resistant Baby Down Jacket works well for most fall, winter and early spring days and is easy to layer since it's so thin and compressible. The Down Sweater also comes in children and adult sizes. Patagonia is a member and co-founder of 1% For The Planet, pledging 1% of sales to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment.
